Anonymous asked: Hi! I just saw your portfolio and you graduated from the artschool that I'm about to go! THAT IS SO COOL. I'm considering the animation or illustration or even dual major as an option (I know it's kinda early in this stage) but, since you graduated with an illustration degree, I just wanted to ask if going to CCAD was a good choice in getting a job in the industry-wise. I hope this isn't too personal and crossing the line... If it is, I'm really sorry! (P.S Your art is very inspiring!)

    Answer:

Oh hay…..anon….  :1 (why so anon ugh)

Well as far as jobs go I was lucky to snag an art job at a small video game company right after graduation. The company went under, but I was able to find an internship in my field soon after (that is where I am at currently). If I did not do the networking I did, and I didn’t know the people I knew….I can’t say for certain that I would of found these job opportunities. There is no art school out there that will guarantee you a job after graduation.  Art school is not what is going to get you a job, what’s going to get you a job after graduation is you. If you aren’t passionate and completely focused on succeeding…and arts not the only thing you think about- then turn the other way now.  If you want to pursue CCAD then use the time you have there wisely, don’t let it speed you buy. Draw the things you are passionate about and make sure you intergrate that into your school projects. Just do what you do best and hone those skills.
