This is actually another art challenge thing that I never got around to finishing. I found it again today while cleaning my desktop and figured this is as finished as it would get. I really don’t like doing self portraits, so I did some unflattering facial expressions for practice lol
challenge #12. Traditional. Scetch, lineart, colour. Use an hour or more for every step. Self portrait time!
uhhhhhhh This is Challenge #9 (CG a black and white piece) and it will never be finished…..
This is the epidemy of my comfort zone regarding art: burn and dodge, flowy cape things, no backgrounds etc. pffft
The cool character here belongs to Coey <33333

OK. I know it's really stupid and you probably won't answer XD but I have a question: When you do a digital drawing with colours and all how do you put the colours? I mean, do you just sketch and put them in the same layer or you sketch , colour (layer 2) and then trace the line again(layer 3)? Because whenever I try to put colours in a second layer I need to put the opacity at like 50% or something like that if want to be able to se my lines. And by doing this my lines become another colour....
I pretty much work on one layer for all of my colored work. I work primarily in pchat and clean up things in photoshop, because i’m weird.
Here are some shots of my process, i hope that helps LOL
Oh gosh I am so out of practice!!! :UU
Going to start up my figure a day thing again, and study expressions as well with my new book. This study is referenced from SenshiStock, you should all check that page out- very nice batch of stock there, great for practicing!
